9, improving to 5-0-2 in the series dating to February 2013. All but two of those games, however, came in Chicago. The Blackhawks are 1-3-2 in their last six visits to San Jose. Duncan Keith also scored to become the fifth defenseman in Blackhawks history to reach 400 points. Chicago has outscored foes 15-8 in winning three of four. “They’re the best team in the NHL this year, (but) we knew they were coming off a back-to-back games and three in four nights,” said Kane, who is second in the league with 56 points. “We played a perfect road game. It was a fun game.” Kane and Sharp have combined for six goals and 12 assists over the last five games. * The Ducks were shellacked, 6-3, by the Sharks at SAP Center last night, snapping their six-game winning streak in the process. These two clubs have played 16 times total over the last 4+ seasons, and each has won eight of those tilts. * Patrick Kane had a goal and a helper Wednesday night, and with 53 points on the season, is now tied with Tyler Seguin for the scoring lead in the Western Conference. Including two goals in these clubs last game (November 28), Kane has 10 points (4g, 6a) in his last 12 skates vs. the Ducks. * Matt Beleskey lit the lamp last night, giving him a goal in back-to-back games, and 19 markers on the season overall tied with Corey Perry for the team lead. Blackhawks Game Notes For Friday @ Anaheim | WGN-TV

San Jose did not fare well in its only other meeting with the Blackhawks this season, a 5-2 thumping in Chicago on Nov. 9 less than 24 hours after a 5-3 victory over the Stars in Dallas at the start of a seven-game road trip. “We were flat and it was on a back-to-back and they took it to us that game,” forward Logan Couture said Friday. Now the situation is reversed with Chicago having played Friday night in Anaheim and the Sharks are playing the sixth of seven straight at home. “Hopefully we can take advantage of them, get on them early,” Couture said Friday. While the Sharks have fared well over the past few seasons against the NHL’s stronger teams, their games against the Blackhawks have not fit that pattern as Chicago has won eight of the previous 12 meetings between the teams and picked up a point in two of the four losses. The Sharks are 6-1-1 this season against the other California teams, and Couture noted that they could face Los Angeles or Anaheim in the first round of the playoffs so there’s added incentive. With the Blackhawks in the Central Division, an early playoff showdown is possible but far less likely. “We know they’re one of the best teams in the league and if we do face them, hopefully it’s in the conference finals. It’s a challenge playing against those guys, they’ve got so muck skill up front, great defensemen, and their goaltender plays well. I guess you would say, yeah, it’s a measuring stick for us.” For more on the Sharks, see David Pollak’s Working the Corners blog at blogs.mercurynews.com/sharks . “They have a number of skilled players to complement their hard work ethic. This is a tough building to play in.” The Ducks (32-11-6) are surely looking forward to getting back home after falling 6-3 at San Jose on Thursday, their first loss in seven contests. Anaheim gave up five goals in the second period after allowing six in its previous five games combined. Making just his fourth start, Ilya Bryzgalov surrendered all six goals on 25 shots before giving way to Frederik Andersen late in the second. “That game was on 20 guys,” coach Bruce Boudreau said. “Five goals? I don’t know what happened to us. … We didn’t play very good in front of Bryzgalov.” The Ducks are expected to go back to Andersen, who is a league-best 17-2-1 with a 2.09 goals-against average since Dec. 1. source: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/blackhawks-ducks-preview-073045035–nhl.html
