Morin tallied 28 shots and 15 penalty minutes in 15 games with the Blackhawks this season. The 23-year-old was held to 10:13 of ice time or less in each contest, and didn’t register a point. Morin was a healthy scratch in each of the last eight games to prompt the conditioning stint, which can last up to two weeks. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Morin was unhappy with his situation and asked to be traded if he wasn’t going to be played. Morin, a 2009 second-round pick of the Atlanta Thrashers who was traded to the Blackhawks in 2010, has eight goals and eight assists in 54 career regular season NHL games. The first time Seidenberg sees Toews numbers is when the Blackhawks captain is rolling on the ground. Again: Its a battle for a loose puck. Claude Julien came off as unfeeling in his postgame comments, but hes sorta correct: I certainly dont like seeing those kinds of things, but this is where its important to take care of ourselves. So, I view that five-on-three were going to close a gap quickly, and Dennis [Seidenberg] is a strong individual, said Julien. Is he supposed to get weak because of that situation? Or he just plays to his strength. I wasnt happy. I looked at it, and it could be arguable, but from my end of it I think its what it is. Our guys need to finish their checks and sure, youve got to be careful, but Im sure he knew that [Seidenberg] was coming. Thats code for Toews turned his back to the play, which is a bit much. But his body positioning to play the puck helped turn a shoulder hit into one from behind. This isnt to blame Toews, but rather its to explain how things went badly. Look, the easy thing to do here for the League would be to suspend Dennis Seidenberg. source: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/nhl-gets-it-right-with-no-hearing-for-seidenberg-on-jonathan-toews-hit-163034029.html

Visnovsky then skated across the Chicago zone and beat Darling to put New York in front at 11:01. “We had some breakdowns and I couldn’t come through,” said Darling, 5-2 in seven career NHL games. “They ended up being the difference in the game.” Jaroslav Halak got back on his game and made 23 saves. He had lost two straight after winning a club-record 11. New York allowed 17 goals during its three-game skid. Darling, subbing again for injured Corey Crawford , had won four straight all on the road and three times in six days. He stopped 38 shots. Just when it seemed both teams might be shut down, the Blackhawks went in front on their second shot of the second but found themselves back in a tie seconds later. Carcillo started it with a shot from the slot that Halak blocked, but the puck popped into the air and landed behind the goalie with 5:35 left. It was Carcillo’s fourth goal. Before that could be announced to the crowd, which had a fair share of Blackhawks fans scattered around it, a Chicago blunder got the Islanders on the board. source: http://www.ctpost.com/sports/article/Isles-strike-late-snap-Blackhawks-winning-streak-5955761.php
