Freddie played a great game, and we let him down. The Blackhawks were leading 3-1 when Anaheims Kyle Palmieri received a 5-minute boarding penalty and an automatic game misconduct with 9.4 seconds left in the second period. He took a run at Johnny Oduya from at least 40 feet away and sent him crashing against the boards between the benches as Oduya was carrying the puck up ice with his head down. My view was that (Oduya) was falling and he was turning at the same time, Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said. Palmi didnt change his direction, didnt hit him in the head just kept following through with the check. I think because the Chicago bench stood up and everybody made a big deal about it, thats why the penalty was called. Crawford, making his 13th consecutive start, didnt have to face a shot during the first 7 1-2 minutes with his teammates dominating play at the other end. Richards gave the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead at the 7:58 mark, beating Andersen to the glove side with a 35-foot wrist shot at the end of a 2-on-1 rush. We talked about it before the game, that the forwards were going to have to help the D today, Boudreau said. Chicago was on a mission, and thats as good as theyve played against us in a long time. They took it to us from the drop of the puck, and thats when you need your experience to come through. Shaw made it 2-0 at 13:30 of the first, redirecting the puck past Andersens left leg from the low slot after Duncan Keith set him up from the left circle. By then, Chicago had an 11-1 shot advantage, and Boudreau burned his only timeout. The Blackhawks didnt get a shot on net the rest of the period, and Anaheim got on the board with Lindholms goal 3:11 before intermission. He batted in a rebound of Patrick Maroons 50-foot slap shot off Crawfords mask, just seconds after Kesler received a solid open-ice hit from Niklas Hjalmarsson that knocked him backward and onto the ice. source: http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2014/11/28/blackhawks-rout-ducks-4-1/

Kane gets three assists in 3-2 win over Avalanche | The Journal Gazette

Hossa finished with a game-high nine shots. Pickard has established himself as the starter until Semyon Varlamov returns from a groin injury that has sidelined him the last four games. “It’s good for me playing games in the NHL,” Pickard said. “You get to feel more comfortable each one that goes by.” Pickard’s strong play continued into the second. Chicago went on the power play early in the period and put a lot of pressure on Pickard but couldn’t beat him. The Avalanche capitalized when Talbot scored less than two minutes later to give Colorado a 1-0 lead. It was Talbot’s second of the season. The Blackhawks finally broke through when Brent Seabrook’s shot from the point trickled through Pickard’s legs and Toews knocked it into an empty net to tie it. It was Toews’ 10th goal of the season. That ended Pickard’s scoreless streak at 149 minutes, 24 seconds. source: http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20141127/SPORTS2004/141129507/-1/sports12

Elliott exits Tuesday’s game with a lower-body injury |
KMOV.com St. Louis

We will see how long he is out for. The injury appeared to impact Elliotts right leg and was the result of a blue-paint scrum that involved a majority of the players who were on the ice at the time. As he was falling to his back, Elliotts leg appeared to buckle after being slightly caught underneath his body. Senators Erik Condra also tumbled over Elliott as he was falling. There were guys falling everywhere, bodies everywhere so it was tough to see what actually happened, said defenseman Ian Cole. Hopefully hes not out long. The goaltender remained down for a lengthy period of time before testing out his leg with trainer Ray Barile. After several minutes and a long discussion with Barile, Elliott reluctantly limped down the tunnel to the Blues locker room. Jake Allen took over in goal. Its real tough, said defenseman Barret Jackman. He will get evaluated tomorrow and we will see how bad it is. Hes been playing unbelievable for us. Jake did a good job coming in, too. source: http://www.kmov.com/sports/Elliott-exits-Tuesdays-game-with-a-lower-body-injury-283925501.html
