(AP) — The New York Islanders acquired defenseman Nick Leddy and Johnny Boychuk and goalie prospect Kent Simpson in trades Saturday. The Islanders got Leddy and Simpson from Chicago for defensemen T.J. Brennan and Ville Pokka and the rights to restricted free-agent goalie Anders Nilsson . New York acquired Boychuk from Boston for 2015 and 2016 second-round draft picks and a conditional third-round pick. The 23-year-old Leddy had seven goals and 24 assists in 82 games for Chicago last season. Selected by Minnesota in the first round in 2009 and traded to Chicago in February 2010, he had 20 goals and 73 assists in 258 games in four seasons with the Blackhawks. The 30-year-old Boychuk is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season. He had five goals and 18 assists in 75 games last season. Both players were limited in practice Friday. Williams rode a stationary bike and did individual work after not practicing Wednesday or Thursday. Starting left guard Chris Williams (back) and wide receiver Marcus Easley (knee) didn’t participate in practice and are listed as out for Sunday. Both players were injured Sept. 21 in Buffalo’s 22-10 loss to San Diego. Buffalo (2-2) signed wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt to the practice squad Friday and placed wide receiver Caleb Holley on the practice squad/injured list. Carcillo returns to Chicago – KernGoldenEmpire

Financial details were not disclosed. Carcillo played for the Blackhawks from 2011-13 and was a member of the club’s Stanley Cup championship team in the spring of 2013. He was released by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday after attending camp on a tryout basis. The 29-year-old veteran split the 2013-14 season with the Kings and Rangers, ironically the two Stanley Cup finalists last spring. He notched four goals and one assist with 100 penalty minutes in a combined 57 regular-season games, then added two goals in eight Stanley Cup playoff games for the Eastern Conference champion Rangers. In 390 career NHL games, Carcillo has 44 goals and 92 points with 1,179 penalty minutes. In addition to the Blackhawks, Kings and Rangers, he has also played for the Coyotes (2006-09) and Flyers (2009-11).
