Now it’s (Sunday) night, and it is not going to get any easier.. We have a pretty big task on our hands if we want to make it and we have to start winning some games.” Getting a win Sunday could be tough given Nashville’s struggles on the road.. The Predators have lost six straight and 12 of 13 away from Nashville.. They haven’t dropped seven consecutive road games since Dec.. 8-Jan.. 11, 2009.. The Predators are struggling to score regardless of the venue, tallying two goals or fewer in four of five games – with two of those being 1-0 defeats.. Nashville has been shut out a league-high seven times, with Chicago responsible for two.. It hasn’t helped that the Predators are playing without center Paul Gaustad, whose upper-body injury will keep him out at least a couple more games, along with leading goal-scorer Gabriel Bourque and forward Colin Wilson.. The Blackhawks, winners of three of four, are also a bit banged-up, though Joel Quenneville said both Patrick Sharp and Dave Bolland are questionable for Sunday. source: http://aol.sportingnews.com/nhl/story/2013-04-07/predators-blackhawks-preview

Nashville Predators left wing Sergei Kostitsyn (74) handles the puck against the Chicago Blackhawks during the third first at Bridgestone Arena.. The Blackhawks beat the Predators 1-0.. (Don McPeak – USA TODAY Sports) The Blackhawks got an early 1-0 lead when Michal Handzus found Bickell on a cross-ice pass that bickell shot past Pekka Rinne, on a play that Nashville coach Barry Trotz was not happy with.. Trotz said afterwards, “give our goalie a chance to make a save.. The way Jonathan Blum played on that breakaway just left Peks out to dry.” Chicago improved to 12-0-1 against Central Division teams and have moved closer to clinching a playoff berth.. This is the their third win against Nashville, and second in the last six days.. The two teams play again tomorrow night at the United Center.. Nashville lost its second straight game and fourth in the last five, and desperately need some wins if they expect to make the playoffs.. The Predators were without Paul Gaustad who’s apparently still nursing an upper body injury, and according to coach Barry Trotz, is out for the next several games.. The Predators played without Gabriel Bourque and forward Colin Wilson as well, who’s been out since March 9th.. Trotz described his team afterwards as “being a little thin, but our guys gave it everything they had today. source: http://www.clarksvilleonline.com/2013/04/06/nashville-predators-lose-to-the-chicago-blackhawks-1-0-saturday-afternoon/
